Employee Staff
Stan Smith is currently the survey party chief for the Advanced Geomatics Metro office. Mr. Smith has been employed by Advanced Geomatics since 1968, beginning work with us in the Charlevoix office. Stan spent a small period away from the company, but returned to help us finish work with the construction of the Detroit People Mover in 1981. Mr. Smith is certified in CPR and basic First Aid.
James Perry began work for Advanced Geomatics in 1997 as a survey technician for the Charlevoix office. James Perry also serves as the safety manager for our office, providing invaluable services both in the field and in the office. Mr. Perry is certified in CPR and basic First Aid. Mr. Perry is now a Certified Survey Technician Level 1 as of March 2003 and plans to continue his education and expertise in the future years.
William (Bill) Strable began work for Advanced Geomatics in the fall of 1998 and is a Level II Certified Survey Technician. Mr. Strable currently holds a B.A. Geology from SUNY Potsdam. Bill has been pursuing a degree in professional land surveying in his hours after work, and hopes to become a fully licensed surveyor in the near future. Mr. Strable is currently serving as the Southeast Chapter Representative to the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors Survey Technician Council. Bill is also certified in the Safe2Work program as well as CPR and basic First Aid.
Jacob Feindt is the IT Professional for both the Advanced Geomatics Corporate and Metro offices. Mr. Feindt recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northern Michigan University with a BS in Network Computing, and a minor in Biology. Jacob is also a Certified Survey Technician Level I. He is currently pursuing further education in Law, Finances, and Engineering while working full time for Advanced Geomatics. Mr. Feindt is also responsible for programming our mapping software which turns the measurements we make in the field into a near finished map, as well as writing software used to help with the rail layouts for the Detroit Downtown People Mover,
Matthew Farnsworth began work for Advanced Geomatics at the Charlevoix office in the fall of 2001. Mr. Farnsworth spent two years at Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Farnsworth is certified in both CPR and basic First Aid.
Wendy Peterson has been working with Advanced Geomatics for many years now as our financial bookkeeper. Wendy has been one of the most loyal and genuine employees on our staff and is incomprehensively invaluable. Mrs. Peterson is the person who takes all kinds of gripes about money from everyone (even us!), but takes it in stride and continues to work very hard. We cannot express how much Wendy has meant to this company and hope to see her with us for many years to come.
Michael Nachazel began working for Advanced Geomatics in the fall of 2000. Mr. Nachazel has passed the Certified Survey Technician Level 1, and is currently taking classes at Schoolcraft College in the evening. Michael has been involved on countless major projects and has become one of our most valuable survey technicians.
