Reconstruction of the Detroit Downtown People Mover

In the fall of 1998, the City of Detroit experienced major devastation after the implosion of the Hudson's building downtown.  This planned demolition did not go entirely according to plans, as rubble from the collapsing building crushed pieces of the nearby Detroit Downtown People Mover guideway and rails.

In order to put the Detroit Downtown People Mover back into commission as soon as possible, Turner Construction was hired to replace the guideways and railways.  Advanced Geomatics was quickly asked to help with the layout of the railways and guidways due to our comprehensive history working with the rail system.
